I am currently participating in a contest/challenge that is sponsored by Happy Mango Beads. The premise of the challenge was to take a group of beads create a piece of jewelry and then take it apart and using most of the beads create a second piece of jewelry. Here's what I did:
Version 1 is simple and clean using a polymer clay pendant that I made that depicts a sunset at the beach. The pendant is set off with silver rings and shell beads in turquoise and light orange.
Version 2 uses all those beads (except the large ring) and adds in red and silver balls that I didn't incorporate in the first version.
While I like the simpleness of version 1, I feel that the red was needed to mimic the red in the pendant. I just couldn't find a way to incorporate that in version 1.
Version 2 recently sold on my online store: ArtfairlyAware.
If you'd like to participate--deadline is August 14, click on this link to see the rules On Second Thought.
While you're there, check out Happy Mango, they have wonderful beads!
